Punishment

Flogging meant three times 25 blows on the naked buttocks. In order to prevent solidarisation amongst prisoners, inmates had to execute the punishment. In the cell block, the so-called „bunker“, the prisoners were put into dark arrest and deprived of food and covers. Many women didn't survive the physical and psychological trauma of the bunker. In the punishment block, a barracks separated by barbed wire, especially hard labour and regular violent excesses of the guards meant harsher conditions.
