"Juvenile protective custody camp" Uckermark

Since 1942, at a distance of 1,5 km from Ravensbrück, girls and young women who were, according to National Socialist standards, „alien to the community“ and „antisocial“, were imprisoned at the „juvenile protective custody camp“ Uckermark. Camp director, „educators“ and guard personnel were members of the SS. Within the camp, talking was absolutely prohibited, „offences“ were punished by food deprivation and hours of standing for the roll call, the girls were forced to do hard physical labour.
